Birthdays
A word on the day. Nothing to set up — the birthday on the profile is enough.
Senior years
When a pet crosses into their senior stage, "normal" changes: check-up cadence, weight watching, what a subtle sign might mean. Petus marks the crossing and quietly shifts its baseline to match.
Saying goodbye
When a pet dies, tell Petus plainly, or however you can. What happens next is deliberate:
- Condolence first. No paperwork in that conversation.
- The record moves to a memorial state: reminders and check-ins stop at once.
- Nothing is deleted. The record, the photos, the journal stay yours.
- The record then stays quiet, except on remembrance days, when a memory may gently return.
Rehoming, or a profile added by mistake
That's different from goodbye: a pet can be removed from the household, and removal is reversible if circumstances change back.
