- Visual Analysis: Capability to upload and analyse images of your pet for symptom guidance
- Veterinary Locator: Tools to help you find nearby veterinary clinics

- Licensed Veterinarian Consultations: Connection to board-certified, licensed veterinarians
- Priority Support: Enhanced response times and support features

You expressly acknowledge and agree that:
- No Veterinary-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR): Use of our AI services does not establish a veterinarian-client-patient relationship.
- Informational Purposes Only: All information provided by our AI assistant is for educational and informational purposes only.
- Not Medical Advice: AI-generated responses do not constitute medical or veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations.
- Inherent Limitations: AI technology has inherent limitations. Responses may be incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate for your specific situation.
- Critical Decisions: You should never delay seeking professional veterinary care based on information from our AI services.
3.2 Emergency Situations
IF YOU BELIEVE YOUR PET IS EXPERIENCING A MEDICAL EMERGENCY, DO NOT USE THIS APP AS YOUR FIRST RESPONSE. IMMEDIATELY CONTACT YOUR LOCAL EMERGENCY VETERINARY CLINIC OR ANIMAL HOSPITAL.
Signs of veterinary emergencies may include: difficulty breathing, severe bleeding, inability to stand, seizures, loss of consciousness, suspected poisoning, severe trauma, or bloating/distended abdomen.
4. User Accounts and Responsibilities
4.1 Account Registration
When registering, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information about yourself and your pets
- Maintain and promptly update your account information
- Maintain the security and confidentiality of your login credentials
- Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access

You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account and use our Services.
5. Subscription and Payment Terms
5.1 Subscription Plans
- Petus Free: A no-cost tier providing access to basic AI-powered pet health guidance
- Petus Plus: A paid subscription at $180/year providing enhanced features including priority response times, detailed health reports, and access to licensed veterinarian consultations at preferential rates
- Veterinarian Consultations: Available at £25 per consultation
5.2 Billing and Payment
- Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled
- Free trials convert to paid subscriptions automatically
5.3 Refunds and Cancellations
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. We do not provide refunds for partial billing periods.
6. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree NOT to:
- Use the Services for any pet you do not own or have legal responsibility for
- Provide false or misleading information
- Use the Services for commercial purposes without consent
- Attempt to diagnose or treat others based on information from our Services
- Use automated means to access the Services
- Interfere with or disrupt the Services

- Use the Services for any illegal purpose
7. Intellectual Property
The Services and all content are owned by Petus AI and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Services for personal, non-commercial purposes.
8. User-Generated Content
You retain ownership of any content you submit. By submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, and display your content in connection with operating the Services.
You represent that you own or have the necessary rights to submit content and that your content complies with these Terms.
9. Third-Party Services
Our Services may integrate with third-party services. Licensed veterinarians who provide consultations through our platform are independent contractors, not employees of Petus AI.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
We disclaim all warranties including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. AI-generated responses may contain errors, inaccuracies, or omissions.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PETUS AI SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING DAMAGES RELATED TO ANY PET'S HEALTH, INJURY, OR DEATH.
Our total liability shall not exceed the greater of: (a) amounts paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) £100.
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Petus AI from any claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these Terms, your use of the Services, or your violation of any third-party rights.
13. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting support@petus.ai. We may terminate or suspend your account for breach of these Terms or at our discretion.
14. Dispute Resolution
Before initiating formal proceedings, you agree to contact us at legal@petus.ai and attempt to resolve any dispute informally for at least thirty (30) days.
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
15. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting updated Terms and updating the effective date. Your continued use after modifications constitutes acceptance.
16. Consumer Rights Notice
If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom, you have certain statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 that cannot be excluded by these Terms. For digital content, you have the right to cancel within 14 days of purchase.
