Health gets ruled out first
Pain and illness wear behaviour masks: a cat avoiding the litter tray may have a medical problem, not an opinion. When the picture could be medical, Petus takes the clinical path before the training one.
Run the program
One target behaviour, reward-based methods only, and a fixed review date with an honest outcome: better, same, or worse. Recorded, so what was tried is never forgotten.
Petus never suggests punishment or aversive tools, at any severity. And where a situation carries real risk (bites, danger to anyone in the home), the advice is a qualified behaviour professional in person, not a chat program.
