Team & roles
Understand owner, admin, veterinarian, technician and reception roles in Petus, and manage team access separately from professional approval.
On this page
Every member of a practice holds one role. Each role sees what its work needs, no more.
| Role | Covers |
|---|---|
| Owner | The whole practice: team, settings, billing |
| Admin | Team membership and practice settings |
| Vet | Clinical work: patient records and notes, with personal professional approval |
| Tech | Clinical support: patient flow, inventory |
| Reception | Front of house: booking, inbox, the day list |
Only owners and admins manage membership: adding people, ending access, changing roles.
Add a teammate
Open Settings → Team & access. The teammate needs an existing Petus account with a verified email. Enter that email, choose their role, and select Add colleague. Access starts when they are added. Each person signs in separately. Use Remove access when someone leaves the practice.
If they cannot see the workspace, check the invited email, membership status, and the practice selected in their workspace selector. Personal veterinary approval does not automatically add someone to a practice.
Verification is personal
Each vet verifies registration individually, exactly as independent vets do (see Getting started). A practice membership never inherits or transfers it.
Role preview
The practice owner can preview the workspace as any other role: what reception sees, what a tech sees. Preview only narrows — it can never grant more than the previewing account already has.
Two-step verification
Professional accounts support TOTP two-step verification. Sensitive actions ask for a fresh code.
