Whiteboard & patient flow
Use the Petus practice whiteboard to follow visits, check waiting time, open clinical work and manage a separate waiting-room display.

The whiteboard is the team's view of visits moving through the practice. It complements the schedule: the schedule describes booked time, while the whiteboard helps staff see what stage a visit has reached.
Work through a visit
- Find the correct appointment and patient. Check in the arrival through the appointment workflow.
- Open Whiteboard and locate the visit.
- Move the visit to the appropriate stage as the actual work progresses.
- Open the linked clinical work when it is time to document the visit.
- Update the flow state when responsibility passes to the next person.
Waiting-time information helps identify visits needing attention. It reflects recorded state changes, so update the board when the visit changes rather than leaving it until the end of the day.
A flow state is an operational status. Moving a visit does not, by itself, sign a SOAP note, complete an invoice or confirm that all follow-up work is finished. Use the relevant clinical or billing workflow for those actions.
Correct a mistaken change
Use the available undo action after an accidental move. Before changing a visit again, confirm its current state; another team member may already have acted on it. If the state does not match what is happening, reconcile it with the team rather than continuing from an assumed stage.
If a visit is missing, check that the appointment is for today, its state and its patient link. Return to Schedule to resolve a booking or check-in problem.
Use a waiting-room display
The waiting-room wallboard has a separate display link. Use this purpose-built view on a public screen rather than leaving the staff workspace signed in. Treat the link as access to that display and share it only with the people setting up the screen.
The practice can revoke display links when a screen is retired, a link has been shared too widely or access should end. Check the displayed view in the actual waiting-room setting before leaving it unattended.
Connect flow with accountable work
The whiteboard helps coordinate the current visit. A task needed later belongs in Follow-ups, with an assignee and due date. A result awaiting clinical review belongs in the Lab inbox. Keeping these responsibilities in their work queues prevents them from disappearing when a visit leaves the board.
