Your Petus Vet workspace is the starting point for your individual professional work. It shows patients shared with you and provides access to documentation and account tools. A practice workspace has its own team context and permissions.
Start with the dashboard
The dashboard summarises active patient access, shares approaching expiry and pending invitations. Recent activity can include authorised records, health events and reminders. These views depend on what owners have shared; an empty view does not mean that a pet has no health history.
Check expiring access before a planned review. If the share will expire before you need the record, ask the owner to review the sharing period. An access request does not extend an existing share automatically.
Find a patient
Open Patients and search using the available patient or owner details. The list also provides species and breed context. Confirm the correct animal before opening the record, especially when owners have several pets or patients have similar names.
The expiry shown with a share is part of its permission, not a clinical follow-up date. If a patient disappears after access ends, ask the owner to share again through Care Circle.
If the patient has not been shared, use the request-access action with the owner's email and an optional message explaining the intended review. The owner chooses the pet, sections and duration. See shared record access for the full process.
Move between history and documentation
A patient record provides Summary, Timeline, Connected health and Files views where the relevant information is available. Use these to prepare for a visit and check original material behind a summary.
Scribe is a separate notes workspace in your professional account. Your Scribe notes are private to you; they are not automatically practice episodes or updates to an owner's history.
If you work with a participating practice, switch to the appropriate practice context for the team's schedule, whiteboard, clinical episodes and work queues. Confirm the practice name and effective role before making a change. The practice workspace guide explains that navigation.
If a tool or record is missing
Check which account and workspace you are using, whether the owner's share is active, and whether your role includes the action. Consultation-network features are not generally available. Contact support if the expected access is still missing; include the workspace and action, not an unnecessary copy of the patient's record.
