Prescribing & US state rules
Coming soonState-matched dispatch and per-state prescribing policy.
Veterinary telemedicine and prescribing are regulated state by state in the US. Petus opens each state only after legal review; prescribing policy defaults to the conservative reading until then.
How the state layer will work
| Piece | What it does |
|---|---|
| Licenses | Your state licenses are held on file and verified |
| Dispatch | US consults route only to vets licensed in the owner's state |
| Prescribing policy | Set per state, conservative by default |
| Prescriptions | Written against the consult and filed to the pet's record |
You will never have to check eligibility yourself: a case that reaches you will be one you are licensed to take, under that state's current policy.
Outside the US
Consults elsewhere follow your own jurisdiction's telemedicine rules. Verification already records your registration and jurisdiction; nothing extra is required.
