What’s new: photo checks, DNA imports, and a smoother first day
A structured verdict when you send a photo, DNA test imports that become a lifetime watch-list, medication schedules that repeat properly, and a first conversation that earns its keep.

A big batch this time — four things, all aimed at the same target: Petus should be useful in the first five minutes, and then keep getting more useful for years.
Photo checks now give a verdict, not a paragraph
Send a photo of the thing that's worrying you and Petus now answers with a structured verdict: Now (see a vet today), Soon (book in the coming days), or Monitor (reasonable to watch at home — and here's what would change the answer). Behind it sit dedicated analysers for skin, eyes, teeth, stool, body condition and gait — each grading against real veterinary scales. For a limp, a short video works better than a photo, and Petus will tell you so.
One deliberate choice: when the photo genuinely isn't enough to judge, Petus says that — it will never dress uncertainty up as reassurance.
DNA tests become a watch-list
If you've done an Embark or Wisdom Panel test, you can now import it. Petus blends the breed composition into your pet's profile and builds a lifetime watch-list from it — the conditions those breeds are actually prone to, what early signs look like, and at what age they tend to matter. The £120 test you did for fun becomes an early-warning system.
Medication schedules that repeat properly
"Every 12 hours for 10 days", "monthly flea treatment", "annual booster" — recurring schedules now work the way medicine actually works. And reminders reach you where you are: push, SMS or email, your choice.
A better first day
New households now start with a conversation, not a form. Tell Petus about your pet the way you'd tell a friend — talk, even, voice input works now — and the profile builds itself while you chat. And if you'd rather show than tell, there's a growing directory of vetted clinics across the UK, US, Singapore and Hong Kong that Petus can point you to when something needs in-person eyes.
As always, everything above is live today — this post is the product, not the roadmap.
