What's new: a directory of pet services

Your rabbit needs a vet who sees rabbits. Your dog needs a clinic that takes emergencies. And one day you may want a groomer, a walker or a sitter you can trust.

Petus now has a directory of pet services at petus.ai/directory. Look for Pet services on the website, or Find pet services in the sidebar once you've signed in. You don't need an account to search or to contact a provider.

The directory is new. It starts with veterinary clinics that Petus compiled from public sources in four US cities (Austin, Los Angeles, Miami and San Francisco), seven UK cities, Singapore and Hong Kong. For now, these clinics are the whole directory. Groomers, walkers, sitters, trainers and other pet professionals add their own profiles as they join. When a search finds nothing, the page says so and suggests ways to widen it.

Search by service, animal and place

Type what you need in plain words, such as "a vet for my rabbit". Then add a town, city or postcode, choose Use my location, or pick an area on the map. Your browser remembers a typed or map-chosen area for later searches (a device location only briefly), and Clear filters forgets it. None of this changes the location saved in your account. The page starts in the country your internet connection suggests, and you can change it.

Filters narrow the results by service, such as grooming, nail trimming, puppy training or pet taxis; by animal, including dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, reptiles, horses and fish; and by where the service happens: at their premises, home visits or online.

What a profile shows

A profile can show services, an address or the area a provider visits, opening hours, prices, and experience or qualifications, where the provider has added them. You can call, email, visit the website, open a booking page or get directions, where these are listed. Clinic profiles show when a clinic takes emergencies or is open 24 hours, and visitors in the US and UK see search distances in miles.

Petus reviews every profile a provider submits, and every later change, before it goes public. That review is not a credential check: providers describe their own qualifications, and Petus does not verify them. Profiles that Petus compiled from public sources say so. Bookings and payments happen with the provider, not through Petus, so confirm details and availability with them. If something looks wrong, choose Suggest an edit on the profile; Petus asks you to sign in before sending.

Ask Petus in chat

You can also ask in your Petus conversation: "Can you find a groomer for Biscuit near us?" Petus uses the animal on your pet's record and the town or city saved in your account, or asks where to look. It never uses your device's location. If you haven't set one, Petus may have estimated it from your internet connection; you can check or change it in Settings > Account, under Location. Matches appear in a card that links to the full list in the directory. If nothing matches nearby, Petus says so. For a vet, Petus may instead show nearby clinics with a call button and directions.

Petus may also offer to look when it fits the conversation. It asks first, and you can say no. The search doesn't contact anyone, book anything or share your pet's records. If your pet needs urgent care, Petus keeps to its emergency advice and, where it has clinics listed, shows nearby ones.

Groomers, walkers, sitters, trainers, vets and other pet professionals can add a profile at petus.ai/directory/join. It's free to create and manage. If Petus has already compiled a profile for your business, choose Is this your business? on it to ask to manage it; we check the connection first. Otherwise, sign in or create a free account, add your services, animals, area and contact details, and submit the profile for review. We email you the outcome, and you manage the profile from My services. A profile is a public listing only. It gives no access to patient records or to Petus's professional tools.
